Hello,
I am working in West Bengal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), a Government of India's flagship program. Here is a contract of 1 year of service that is extendable up to 3 years.
My question is, does the job have any possibility of becoming permanent if I worked there for more than 240 days in a year?

In several cases, the court has given judgments that a regular position should be filled through the regular channel of recruitment, i.e., Advertisement in Newspaper - Calling applications - Screening Applications - Interview, Written / Oral / Physical, etc., and only then should the regular position be filled. So, I do not think you can claim permanency after completing 240 days.

Regular positions should be filled through the regular channels of recruitment, such as advertising in newspapers, calling for applications, screening applications, and conducting interviews (written, oral, physical, etc.). Only after this process should the regular positions be filled, and the employees should work for more than 240 days.
Could you please advise on the legal grounds or any court cases, whether high court or supreme court decisions, that I can refer to for regularization?

(Fact Checked)-The user's reply is correct. Regular positions should be filled through the proper recruitment process as described, and completion of 240 days does not automatically grant permanency. (1 Acknowledge point)
