Dear Sir,
I am a contract workman in a reputed company in Jabalpur (MP) for the last 8 years and receive all benefits like ESIC, PF, and a net wage of around Rs. 8500 after all deductions. I have 2 children who are currently studying in nursery and KG-II.
I am interested in knowing if there are any facilities available for the children of contract workmen to access benefits such as education fees and other related advantages, similar to what regular employees receive, like benefits for passing classes, etc.
Please provide assistance and information if such benefits are available.
Thank you.

Hi,
If there is a policy in your company regarding welfare measures or benefits that include contract workers, then yes, you can claim that. However, it is not mandatory for the management to provide education allowance to employees on the payroll or under contract. In the case of a young person employed, yes, the management has to bear the educational expenses of that individual.

Thank you, Christopher, for your reply.
You mentioned that it is not mandatory for management to provide this facility to employees, whether regular or on contract. Are there any other policies from the state or central government for the children of contract workmen at this stage to provide education or any other benefits so that I can claim?

Jitendra

Hi,
Based on my search, I think all government employees have Children Education Allowance, but not in private companies. You can check with a labor consultant in your area for further queries. I couldn't find anything related to private companies and contract employees.

Dear JKS 123,
If you are a contract worker, you would be contributing to the Labor Welfare Fund regularly. If so, then you have a variety of benefits such as educational incentives, educational scholarships, typewriting/shorthand assistance, and assistance for basic computer training from the labor welfare board. You may check with your local labor welfare board for any assistance.
You have also mentioned your monthly wage, which is well below the wage limit for receiving welfare benefits from the labor welfare board. In Tamil Nadu, the maximum wage limit to receive various labor welfare benefits is Rs. 15,000/- per month.
