Hi, my previous employer is asking for Aadhaar card when I requested to settle my PF claim. I had joined the organization in April 2011 and left in June. Is Aadhaar card mandatory? If not, what action should I take?

No, especially for settlements, not at all required. Here, I attached one GO about Aadhar card and PF link; show it to them. Then, also if they ask for that file grievance at this site against the employer [Home Page](http://epfigms.gov.in/)

Dear,
Until date, EPFO has not issued any notification stating that an Aadhaar card is mandatory for submitting FORM 19 & 10 C. Kindly request your employer to provide any notification justifying their requirement for Aadhaar. If you are currently employed in another organization, it is recommended to submit Form 13 to your current employer for the transfer of your EPF & EPS amounts.

Dear Friends,
As Mr. Ramnarayan has mentioned, even though the EPF issued a circular on 21.01.2013 insisting on Aadhar numbers for settlements effective from 01.03.2013, it has been temporarily suspended as per the circular dated 06.02.2013.
Hence, Aadhar numbers are not mandatory for PF settlements at present.

I agree with all my friends and also, as per notifications attached, below is just to highlight what is already stated above:
Get your PF transferred by way of Form 13 if you are working with any other employer instead of taking the money.

This is the way our Department Functions.
AADHAR was not started in the whole of India; only a few states had it at the initial period. Now, enrollment has been extended to other states as well. Keeping this in view, it was absolutely absurd on the part of EPFO to seek AADHAR Cards, especially on a mandatory basis. By the time they realized this, the notification had already been removed.
After some time, they put this requirement on hold. The bottom line is that the submission of AADHAR Cards is not mandatory. However, those who have it must submit it to their employers during joining, leaving, or settlements.

Aadhar card applicability for settlement of PF is not yet mandatory. It is only a ploy for bringing more and more people under Aadhar Card, so that Govt. policies can be formulated on this basis.

Dear Bshnprsd,
First of all, check with your ex-employer the objective behind asking for your Aadhar card, as today it is not linked with EPF. It would be better to convince your previous employer's executive (he/she might not be aware) about the latest circular which deferred linking Aadhar with PF.
Secondly, you can transfer your previous PF balance to your current PF account easily by filling Form-13 and with the help of your current employer. Transferring would be more appropriate than withdrawal, but the choice is yours.

Hi,
Earlier, I had settled my PF in one of my accounts. However, one day when I checked the balance, it showed Rs.1234 as EE and Rs.238 as ER. Now, please guide me on how to claim these unsettled amounts.

This is very surprising that the company is asking for Aadhaar Card. I have never heard of this requirement before, and as far as I know, it is implemented in only some states. Hence, it is not mandatory. I suggest asking them for any alternative.

Hi,
FURNISHING AADHAAR-RELATED INFORMATION FOR EPF PENSIONERS AND BENEFICIARIES.
EPFO is in the process of collecting Aadhaar details in respect of its pensioners. It is, therefore, requested to submit legible photocopies of the AADHAAR letter issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), the first page of PPO, and the passbook of the bank account where the pension is being remitted (containing the bank account number and IFSC code) in respect of all the beneficiaries. The copies may be submitted directly to the EPF office or the pension-paying bank branch. The PPO number should be mentioned on the photocopies of both the AADHAAR letter and the passbook.
One thing to keep in mind is that as of now, it is not required to submit the AADHAAR copy for PF Settlement. However, it is a must for all existing employees to submit their AADHAAR copy on or before 01/06/2013 and for the new joiners at the time of joining.
