Dear All,
I have a few queries regarding statutory.
1. What are the code and subcode in PF and ESIC? If a company has branches in different states, do we need to have separate PF/ESIC codes for each branch, or will one PF/ESIC code work for administrative purposes?
2. PT varies for each state, so how do we file PT returns? Can we do it only from the home branch for all states?
Awaiting response.

Code and Subcode are like father and son. If you are a single company, then you have a code. If you are running a group of companies under one umbrella, then you have the subcode. Your company is identified in the system by this code. So, every month when you send the details to the PF department along with employee details, the sheet will have a code column to specify, and with this detail, the system updates the info.
You don't need to have a separate code for all the branches. Your home branch serves as the primary point for all the states. For example, if your headquarters is in Mumbai and you have around 3-4 branches in other states, all the PF will be mapped to the Mumbai account.

My registered office is in Delhi, and I have an ESIC code from Delhi. I applied for PSARA license renewal for the Haryana Region. However, the Haryana Authority is requesting an ESI Sub code. Could you please clarify how I can obtain the ESI sub-code for Haryana?
