Dear Seniors, If employee take 1 SL in satuday and take 2 CL on monday & tuesday So please confirm total leave 4 or 3 only. please confirm CL count in prefix or suffix.

HI DEAR, as per our company rules we can considered as 4days leave, because if an employee is not worked on either satuarday or monday we can considere sunday also as leave.

Dear Shrivastava,

It is not fair on the employer's part to cheat employees, and vice versa. SUNDAY is a GOVERNMENT HOLIDAY and cannot be considered as LOP. You may define your policies based on NEED just to maintain DISCIPLINARY STANDARDS by not allowing your employees to avail leave (continuous) without a valid reason and systematic job handover. If it's really needed, on emergency grounds and based on genuine reasons, you may allow your employees to take off along with Sunday without counting it as LOP.

With profound regards

Both Sick Leave and Casual Leave can not be merged and deductions of 4 days leave is correct. J Vaikunth Vaipav Consultants 09962113555

1. CL can be combined only with Compensatory Off/Holidays/Restricted Holidays/Off days.
2. CL cannot be combined with any other type of leave as mentioned above.
3. When CL is combined with holidays/off days/CO/Restricted Holidays, the total absence should not exceed 10 days. In such an occasion, the maximum CL that can be sanctioned is 6 days.

Sunday as a weekly paid off is available provided one works for the whole week. Paid weekly off has to be earned. Otherwise, an employee is not entitled to the paid weekly off. However, some companies allow employees to avail leave before and after the weekly off and do not count Sunday as leave; this is the policy of some companies.

Normally, most companies permit either the prefixing or suffixing of leave to a holiday but not both. The above is the current policy. You may make a policy decision or treat it as leave since the employee does not earn a paid weekly off.

Hi shrivastava, It depends on your company’s Leave Policy. Regards, Srilakshmi Korukonda

Hi, If an employee is not worked on either Saturday or Monday we can consider Sunday also as leave.

If you consider a month as 26 days, we do not need to consider leave on Sunday if his weekly off is on Sunday. In my opinion, other than paid leave (Wage with leave), if leave is applied, the prefix and suffix of weekly off should be treated as leave.

Hi,

As per the Shops and Establishment Act and the Factories Act, no employee can combine Sick Leave and Casual Leave when going on leave. It should be either sick leave or Casual Leave. If it is Sick Leave, Sunday can be counted as an additional Sick Leave day. However, if it is Casual Leave, Sunday is not counted as a day of leave. If Privilege Leave (PL) is taken on a Sunday, it is counted as a leave day.

Sick leave and casual leave could not be clubbed together. In your case, the total absence is for 4 days. Either you have to take sick leave or casual leave.

Hi Aswinia,

Leave policy differs from company to company. Each organization designs and follows its own policy. However, I am outlining a general leave policy. Hope this may help you.
