Yeah, I believe it can be helpful because attendance and scheduling are the basic ways to chalk out and plan your routine operations and task management. Therefore, it may also help us to control and manage unnecessary operational costs.
I think there may be two cases:
1. Production/machine-based working environment or setup;
2. Men Power/Manual working set.
In the first case, there may be further classifications in production or machine-based setups. I think it usually will not be very helpful in setups where there are big machines or setups that can start their operation even if the employee is late or absent. But there may be a setup where the operations can only be started or composed by a person with particular skills and expertise. Therefore, there are chances to make forecasts and alerts regarding such setups.
The attendance or absentee ratio will give you factors to plan and curtail your additional or unnecessary costs in any of the following ways:
1. Switch off unnecessary machines.
2. Use limited lights or safety equipment.
3. Use a minimum of papers/printers/copiers.
4. Manage and plan additional workers.
5. Timely distribution of work, etc.
