Hi to all users,
This is Amar from Hyderabad. Please help me with this query regarding PF:
1) I am aware that the PF contribution of the employer is 12% on basic + DA. But if an employee's basic + DA exceeds 6500, what would be the contribution of PF from the employer's side?
2) I've heard that in some software companies, some employees won't contribute to PF. Is it possible? If so, why?
3) If an employee's contribution of work is not more than 10 years, is he eligible to attain PF?
Please give me a reply if anyone knows.

Dear Amar,
I would like to bring to your kind attention that if an employee has basic pay + DA totaling more than 6500, the PF contribution from the employer's side would be calculated based on 6500.
On your query about some software companies not deducting PF from employees, I want to clarify that when an employee newly joins an organization and is offered a basic pay and DA exceeding 6500 per month, legally, the employee is not obligated to have the PF amount deducted. It depends on the employee's consent when they begin with a basic pay and DA exceeding 6500 per month.
If an employee's contribution is less than 10 years, they will receive 12% of the employee's share + interest, company 3.67% + interest, and company 8.33%. However, for this, the employee has to resign from their duties. After completing 10 years of service, the company's 8.33% contribution will go into the employee's pension fund.
Regarding the questions posted by santoshamar:

2) I have heard that in some software companies, some employees do not contribute to PF. Is this possible, and if so, why?
3) If an employee's duration of work is not more than 10 years, are they eligible to receive PF benefits?
Please provide a reply if anyone has the information.

I am in an automotive plant. I am not aware of the details regarding PF and ESI as my colleagues do not want to disclose it with me. Can anybody help me understand the full procedure of PF and ESI? I would like to know how we calculate it, when we calculate it, which form we have to fill, and how we make the payment. If a new worker joins us, how do we initiate this process? I am looking for a very clear explanation of the process. Please help me out.

In today's time, we need to have more focus on hiring good people who are at least trainable. A very dangerous aspect is attrition. As an HR partner, I have conducted research on "Why Retention Fails Most." Organizations always look for people who are trainable, stable, and profitable. However, do the employees who hire them ever think about this?
I work as a recruiter, and my job should not only involve crunching numbers to highlight my dashboard. I should always aim above the skies and plan my hiring method with the above three criteria in mind. By doing so, I can be successful in terms of retention and the stability of the candidates. Being honest in your job does not mean you can't do it; it means you will face challenges, but you will overcome them.

Dear All,
I am new in HR and I have no idea about ESI and EPF. Actually, our company has two branches, Unit 1 and Unit 2. All work related to ESI and EPF, including payroll, is done in Unit 2. I am unable to learn these things practically, and I want to undergo payroll ESI EPF training. Please recommend any centers that provide this type of practical training near Chandigarh.
Regards,
Gaurav

Dear All,
In our company, many employees are absent from duty without any information. When I issued absenteeism letters against them, sometimes the department has all the information related to employees' absenteeism but does not communicate it to me, leading to disputes. Now, I want to write an email to the concerned department regarding absent information. Please send me the best professional email that I can forward to the concerned HOD to obtain information about absent employees.

(Fact Checked)-The employer's PF contribution remains 12% on basic + DA for all eligible employees, regardless of their salary exceeding Rs. 6,500. All employees in India are required to contribute to PF, including those in software companies. An employee is eligible to withdraw PF after 10 years of service. Thank you for your questions.
