Hi,
My first PF account was opened in 2005, and I left the organization in 2007. I have neither withdrawn nor transferred the amount to the new EPF, and since there was no contribution for three consecutive years, my account has become inoperative. In such a case, do I have any options to withdraw or transfer the PF amounts to the existing EPF from the inoperative account?
Thank you

Thank you, Sir. I prefer to withdraw. Should I contact my previous employer for submitting the form or current employer? I heard there are restrictions on withdrawing the funds, and if this is not possible, then I will look to transfer to the current PF account. I am open to both options and will go with the easier one. Kindly advise.

Hi,
If you are open to both options, then my advice is that you should go for the transfer option. If you want to withdraw, then approach your previous employer. Your current employer will not be able to handle it; only your previous employer can submit those forms.

Well.. In that case transferring looks more convenient than withdrawal.. Than you very much for valuable advice. Regards

Dear Novanag, kindly apply for PF claim so that the respective funds will be credited to your bank account. You can withdraw this PF account as it has only been three years since it became inoperative. If it remains inoperative for more than five years, it will be subject to different procedures.
If you opt for a PF transfer, it may take much more time and require follow-ups from your side. As it is already late, kindly prefer the claim approach. Approach your ex-employer and get things done through them. If you are facing any other problems, please let us know.

Thank you, Mr. Ram. However, currently, the account has become inoperative when I checked online for account status and balance. Moreover, the procedure to withdraw looks tedious as my previous employer has to submit my PF forms for withdrawal. Hence, I opted for transfer.

Hi,
I worked in a diagnostics company from September 2006 to June 2008. I didn't withdraw money from my PF account. Now, I want to withdraw it. However, when I checked online, it shows that the account is inactive. Will I be able to withdraw it, and what is the procedure?
Thank you.

My first PF account was opened in 2007, and I left the organization in 2009. I have neither withdrawn nor transferred the amount to the new EPF. Since there was no contribution in consecutive 3 years, my account has become inoperative. In such a case, can I have any option to withdraw or transfer the PF amounts to the existing EPF from the inoperative account? Thank you.
