Dear All,

Enjoy this one.......

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, then even 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once if the jar was full.

The students responded with a unanimous "Yes." The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided. "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls." The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. "Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled, "I am glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Dear Vishal,

Namaskar.

You believe that the story is a stress buster. Please check if it really busts stress. Stress reduces the resistance to electric conductance in the body and is measured by a GSR monitoring equipment in kilo ohm units. Now, take someone who is under stress. Hook him/her into the equipment, and it will show the basal reading. Then, ask him/her to improve the resistance. Observe to what extent the resistance improved.

Next, narrate the story. Take the reading again and note any difference. This will indicate the effectiveness of your story.

Dear friends,

Namaskar. Feeling stressed at times may be elusive, and moment-to-moment changes may not always be felt. Becoming stressed means the activation of the sympathetic division of one's autonomic nervous system, affecting his/her resistance to electric conductance into the body. This can be measured from the tips of your fingers by GSR equipment. Here is some useful information that can help maintain mental stability:

1. What is the peak level of your resistance?
2. What is the difference in your resistance during work and rest?
3. How does your resistance level change in the morning, noon, and evening?
4. It can help raise the peak level of resistance.
5. It can help minimize resistance levels during rest and work at a higher level.
6. It can help minimize wastage of energy.

Dear Vishal,

So you have no fundaz on rejuvenating or rejuvenation, right? Now let us come to fundaz on laughter:

1. Laughter is the best medicine.
2. A hundred laughs a day keep doctors away.
3. Provided that one laughs with others and not at others.

What about your funda on laughter? I think: Laugh alone at others. Am I right, Vishal ji?

Hello Jogeshwar ji,

"Rejuvenating" means refreshing. I meant that after reading the story, one feels refreshed because life contains so many things. By the way, I did not understand a single thing you posted in Hindi or Sanskrit.

Hello Jogeshwar ji,

Namaskar sree ji,

Chambers dictionary gives the following meanings of "rejuvenate":
1. to make young again.
2. to restore to youthful condition or activity. The meaning of the Sanskrit Sutra quoted by me is:
1. roopa = beauty,
2. labanya = gracefulness
3. bala = strength/stamina
4. bajrasamhanatwani = toughness like a thunderbolt.
5. kaya sampat = wealth of the body. In case you do not know Hindi, I shall translate them into English. In the meanwhile, if you are interested in the topic, please search for "rejuvenating" on the net. You will get 1,650,000 sites.

STORIES ON REJUVENATION

1. Sage Chyavan, one of the two sons of sage Bhrigu, was doing tapasya in his ashram. An anthill had grown over his body. The king of that kingdom had come along with his force to hunt. His daughter, about 14 years old, was also with him. In the ashram complex, everyone was spread out. Suddenly, it happened that calls of nature of all humans as well as animals with them stopped. The king guessed that something untoward might have happened in the ashram. On inquiry, it was found that the little daughter of the king saw the anthill. From there, through two little holes, a beam was coming out. Out of curiosity, she took a thorn and pierced into the holes. Then blood came out. The king understood the wrath of the sage. So, he prayed to the sage and proposed to offer his daughter to the sage in marriage. Then everything was repaired.

While living as Chyavan's wife, one day the princess was taking a bath in a stream when the Ashwini Kumars were passing through the sky. Enchanted by the beauty of the girl, they landed in front of the girl and inquired about her whereabouts. She innocently revealed her identity. Then these beings told her, "You are so beautiful, what pleasure would this old sage be giving to you? Marry one of us, and you will get immense pleasure." So she wanted to talk to her husband. The girl returned with Chyavan. Then the Ashwini Kumars and Chyavan dipped in the stream water, but when they came out of it, all three were looking alike. Then the Ashwini Kumars asked the girl to choose one of them as a husband. In case she was not able to differentiate, then she had the option to think mentally. She exercised her option in favor of Chyavan, and by then, Chyavan was already rejuvenated.

Next, I will tell you the story of King Yayati, how he was dejuvenated and then rejuvenated.

Namaskar, friends.

Yayati, a common ancestor of Lord Krishna and Arjun, had married Devayani, the daughter of Shukracharya, the guru of Danavas. Sharmistha, the princess, was cursed to be a dasi and had become a dasi of Devayani.

While living as husband and wife, one day Yayati and Devayani had gone to walk around the garden where Sharmistha's palace was erected. Incidentally, a child of Sharmistha ran up to Yayati, and saying "father! father!" clung to his body. Devayani became furious upon seeing this scene and left for her father. She narrated everything to her father, and Shukracharya, in turn, became angry and cursed Yayati to become old, and he indeed aged.

Yayati then went to his father-in-law and pleaded, "Oh, father-in-law! Your daughter is still young, and I have become old. So you have harmed your daughter too."

Realizing his mistake, Shukracharya amended his curse: "Any of your sons who voluntarily give their youth to you will become old, and you will rejuvenate."

Devayani had four sons, the first being Yadu. Yayati approached Yadu, but he refused. One by one, all the other sons of Devayani also declined. Yayati then turned to Sharmistha's sons. The first was Puru, and instantly he agreed to his father's request. Yayati rejuvenated, and Puru aged.
