Tejal,

IR deals with Industrial Relations. To be more specific, it is an employee-employer relation that focuses on industrial relations (employer-employees). This may be viewed as the dynamics of contradiction between employers and employees and the struggle for control over work structures, processes, and relations in which regulations and institutions are significant elements.

Subject: Re: What is IR

Dear Tejal,

As you already know, IR is important to smooth the relationship between employees and employers. Mostly, this term is used in the industrial sector to explain the relation between labor and the owner, as well as the role of the management body. It is very much needed to maintain productivity.

So, IR stands for Industrial Relations.

In job portal sites, when a search for a job is made or when creating a profile, one has to select a category of industry, i.e., which industry he/she belongs to or which job category one wants to select for working. Out of many job categories, one category is HR/Admin/IR. So, what are the job positions that come under IR?

The industrial relation means dealing with the matters between the employees and employers. The industrial relation refers to the kind of relationship between the company and labor in the company, or it means the mutual understanding between the employer and employee. The industrial relation deals with grievances, complaints, and problems between the employee and the employer, thus fostering a mutual understanding between them.

Dear All,

The information provided by all of you is very helpful in understanding the role of IR in an industry. I am interested in pursuing a diploma in IR and PM. Can you provide me with information on institutes that offer diplomas in PM and IR?

Currently, I am working as an HR manager in a manufacturing unit in Gujarat. How will obtaining this diploma help me in my current job?

I.R. means Interim Relief granted by the authorities of State/Central Govts or by Courts in certain high-profile cases related to VVIPs. I.R. is specially announced by Govts mainly on financial matters, i.e., pending decision on the whole issue, to ease the tensions of the situation and pacify the people concerned. Govt announces Interim Reliefs to its subjects, servants as a whole.
