Hi,

The following points can be considered as the role of an Admin Executive:

- Courier dispatch and distribution of inward & outward items.
- Ordering groceries, stationery, and other materials accordingly.
- Office maintenance.
- Responsible for hotel booking, car booking, train and bus bookings for official travel, air travel coordination with HO, and conference hall bookings.
- Complete responsibility for the front office housekeeping, security, and office boy.
- Managing housekeeping staff, office boys, their attendance, etc.
- Responsible for requisition and maintenance of office equipment including furniture and fixtures.
- Providing general administrative and clerical support.
- Responsible for payment of bills.
- Receiving postal and courier packages addressed to the employees of the organization and sending them to the correct recipient.
- Maintaining records of entry and exit details.

Thanks a lot, Mani. But I'm again confused whether I have completed my MBA in HR and just got an admin job. Please tell me if an admin job and an HR job are common. What are the differences in roles, responsibilities, and data that need to be maintained by us?

Hi,

In my view, if you have completed or are planning to pursue an MBA in HR, then always without any second thought, opt for HR and not for an Admin job. Admin and HR have distinct roles and responsibilities. There is limited scope for growth in terms of career and finances in Admin compared to HR. If you decide to start with Admin now and switch to HR later, it may not provide relevant experience for your future endeavors. I suggest waiting a bit longer and searching for an HR job. However, in case of an emergency or any other reason requiring you to take the Admin job now, accept it and consider what you can do in the near future (always have an alternate plan or backup ready).

Have a nice day!

Thank you very much for your suggestion. I have completed an MBA in HR through correspondence and was working at Bank of America. Unfortunately, I didn't come across any specific good opportunities there. I recently attended an interview here, but the role offered was in administration. I am open to roles beyond HR and lack the experience required. If I were to pursue HR as a fresher, I might not receive a satisfactory salary considering my current designation. Both the role and the salary are important to me. Therefore, I started a new job in administration here just last week. Can you provide any suggestions or advice?

Hi! I am unable to find any law documented that employees should be given PL, sick leave, and others. If it is there, please let me know as I have just joined a new security service company. Employees who have been working here for even 4 years find their salary being deducted for the day they take leave, and this always happens - no leaves! Please send me information as soon as possible if any laws apply to our kind of offices. Waiting for a reply.
