Hi Sarfaraz,
Manpower planning is a step where human resource needs are ascertained by the management to carry out its business objectives. It is an exhaustive exercise at the inception and later its continuous improvement with respect to planning. Depending on the size, nature, and scale of company operations, manpower planning can be simple or complex.
The basic requirements for manpower planning are:
- Budgeting
- Job Analysis
- Current and Progressive business plans
- Organizational Analysis
- Performance reports (Financial and Human resource)
Thank you.

Wherever human resources are employed! For example, ATMs don't have any humans to govern cash transactions for customers; therefore, no HR management is required in the ATM kiosk. The functions in an ATM are performed by automatic computers and machines. However, if you go to the bank for similar cash transactions with a bank employee, you need HRM to govern their job.

Dear Sarfraz Shaikh,
In very strict terms, HR starts the moment we come to this planet! Mother is the first and then father are the two great HR mentors of a child. In earlier days, they saw to it that the child not only got physical nourishment but also mental nourishment. And above all, they gave their "Unconditional Love" to their child, expecting nothing in return! They did their duty with love, affection, and without any selfish motive. But today, the colleges, management schools have taken over this responsibility and claim they are good at shaping human character and destiny! How far they have succeeded is a moot question because all is done for money and not for love of students or duty. There is no UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND DUTY IN THEIR EFFORTS. Consequently, all that is done is mediocre stuff crammed into the brain of students, who think they have everything necessary for a good career! Professors give references of research studies, quote experts, etc., but whether students have imbibed these is not known. This is a mad, mad, mad world indeed!
