HR plays a key role in any organization. Basically, HR is the mediator between Man and Management. Basic work like salary administration, training and development, recruitment, retention, health and safety, etc., are part of their responsibilities.

Mainly, HR is concerned with employee satisfaction. Therefore, in addition to these tasks, we should focus on various activities that inspire employees to be loyal and long-term assets for the firm. Employee engagement activities, motivational training, and performance appraisals are crucial job functions of the HR department.

Each company has different expectations from their HR department. It comes from the company culture. Some companies mix administration with HR, while in others, it's purely HR. In my opinion, the HR role is to make operational managers the best HR for their department. For this, the HR team has to organize the right training and workshops for better recruitment, career management, appraisals, and through different interviews with their team members, transfer the respective team's feedback to the manager so that he/she can progress in human management of their team. The operational manager is the first HR.

Planning involves working out in a broad outline the things that need to be done and the methods for doing them to accomplish the purpose set for the enterprise.

Organizing entails the establishment of the formal structure of authority through which work subdivisions are arranged, defined, and coordinated for the defined objective.

Staffing encompasses the entire personnel function of bringing in and training the staff and maintaining favorable conditions of work.

Directing is the continuous task of making decisions and embodying them in specific and general orders and instructions, serving as the leader of the enterprise.

Coordinating is the all-important duty of interrelating the various parts of the work.

Reporting involves keeping those to whom the executive is responsible informed about what is going on, which includes keeping oneself and subordinates informed through records, research, and inspection.

Budgeting includes all aspects related to budgeting in the form of planning, accounting, and control.
