Hi,
I need advice on how to deal with a situation.
A guy is working with an outsourcing firm and joined 1-2 years back. He is handling retail projects that are outsourced and works on some software that requires a little idea of retail concepts. He is deployed as a team lead. This firm is also into recruitment. Now, he carries a separate division for retail outsourcing. His team, which consisted of 4-5 members, has reduced to 3, which is all girls and no guy. He is receiving many projects to be done, and as he is the only experienced person, he is unable to handle this pressure alone. His team is inefficient and new, unable to deliver the required skills and work. New members join and leave, and he is tired of training them repeatedly. He is paid well in hand salary, but no PF/medical/gratuity is given. He is under pressure due to work stress, and now he is even working till late at night. His boss is now asking him to come even on weekends/Sundays to work, which he did earlier, but now he is losing his mind and stamina. Even after informing his boss about the inefficient staff, the boss is not taking it seriously and is pressuring him to work. His team did not receive an appraisal this year as the company was going through a slowdown, but the recruitment division got an appraisal.
Please suggest what should be done in this case. How to deal with this situation?

I suggest you appoint a new efficient team leader who can handle the team. Ask him to work under his leadership and cooperate with him because he is unable to handle the situation. Make him understand that reducing pressure in this scenario will increase productivity. For example, the Indian cricket team shows that Sachin is not a good team leader.

Appointing a new team leader will make him lose his job? His boss is not ready to keep a new guy and is getting girls from recruitment who are of no use. He is helpless and being slogged. Need suggestions for him on how to deal with this?
