Hi professionals,
I have just completed my MBA (HR) through distance education. I am eager to make a fresh start in the field of HR. My concern is that I have not undertaken any internships in this area. How can I begin practicing HR?
Thank you.

Hi Amandeep,
Please tell us more about yourself. Where have you been working? Why do you want to change your profession? How many years of experience do you have?
Without much background information, it gets a little difficult to provide suggestions and help.
And then we can discuss it further.

Thank you for responding, Archna.
Actually, I have 4 years of experience in customer care and after completing my MBA, I am eager to enter the HR field. I am relatively new to HR, having pursued my MBA through Distance Education at Guru Jambeshwar University in Hisar. Currently, I am residing in Patiala, Punjab. If you would like to know more, please feel free to ask.
Thanks and regards,
Aman

Hey Amandeep,
Thanks for the info, dear. MBA from distance education does not give an opportunity for an internship. Why don't you try in the same company where you are working as a customer care executive? Generally, companies do have IJPs (internal job postings), and they prefer people who know about the company's culture. If that option is not available, start applying for jobs in HR. I'm sure it may take time, but you will crack an opportunity sooner or later. Work on your communication skills, presentation skills, groom yourself a bit, polish your skills by reading various magazines and articles related to HR. All this will help in increasing the knowledge base once you land a job. Hope this will work, let me know in case of any further queries. All the best,
Archna
Initially, you may get offers from recruitment firms.
