Request for Guidance on Safe Drum Handling Procedure

Accidents may occur during the handling of chemical drums. Hazards like vapor generation and physical injury can result from moving heavy containers by hand and working around stacked drums, heavy equipment, and sometimes deteriorated drums. While these hazards are always present, a safe operating procedure for "Drum Handling" is necessary.

Herewith, I am requesting all seniors for guidance on "Safe Drum Handling Procedure."

Please obtain the Material Safety Data Sheet from the manufacturers and adhere to it strictly.

Safety Equipment Recommendations

Respiratory devices for inhalation, hand gloves for the injection of chemicals, and eye protection for safeguarding the eyes from direct contact with gaseous substances, as well as foot protection for protecting the legs, should be considered. Equipment may be procured and issued to the workers, and they should be advised to use it properly.
