Hi Seniors,
I have joined as an HR Executive in a small IT company, and I am a fresher in the HR field. There is no one to guide me, and I am the only HR person over there. I didn't understand how to start my daily job. Please suggest.
Thanks.

Dear friend,
First of all, don't panic. Be brave. We are here to help you out. Okay.
Since you are the only HR in your company, let's just start with the basic functions of HR, categorized into 4 sectors:
1. Recruitment
2. Post-Recruitment
3. Training & Development
4. Administration
I will provide you with detailed information on the entire gamut of HR functions tomorrow. It's time for me to leave. See you tomorrow.

Dear Yamini,
Please list out your regular activities. Start working in the morning, an hour after the working hours begin, and complete task 1. The next hour, move on to task 2, and continue this pattern until the lunch session. Keep an interesting task after lunch so that you do not feel bored and can manage it even if you feel drowsy.
Plan according to your interests and proceed. It's okay to make mistakes. Only those who work can make mistakes. An idle person without any work cannot make any mistakes even if they wish to.
It's normal to make mistakes, but do not repeat the same ones. Learn from your mistakes whenever you make one. One day, you will become a perfectionist. Try making new mistakes; your wisdom will grow.
With warm regards,

Hi Yamini,
I would suggest that you start by creating an organizational chart for your firm. This will help you understand the company's current hierarchy, identify any gaps (positions that need to be filled), as well as the different grades and designations within the organization. After that, you can familiarize yourself with the methods for managing leave and attendance, along with the company's leave policies.
Try to gather as much data as possible and get a good grasp of how your company operates. Don't hesitate to ask questions to the person you report to. Gradually, you will develop a clear idea of what your company is all about.
Next, focus on understanding the types of employees working in the company, including their qualifications and designations. Once you have a fair understanding, consider creating an employee handbook. This handbook should contain all the necessary information about the company, employment rules, leave policies, etc.
I hope this advice proves helpful. Good luck!

Hi Seniors,
Thank you very much for your valuable suggestions. I was really nervous, but your guidance will definitely make my HR world beautiful. I will keep your words in mind and never get nervous again in the future because I know you all are always here to guide me.
I have one more doubt: as the company is new and I am a new HR Executive of the company, is it required to give any sort of motivational guidance to my team via emails or PowerPoint presentations? Please suggest.
Thanks again!
Yamini.
