Apportion 40% as basic pay and 60% as choice pay. In Choice pay, include the following heads:
1. HRA - 40% for non-metros or 50% in metros
2. Conveyance allowance - 9600/- p.a
3. Medical assistance - Rs. 15,000/- p.a.
4. Children Education Allowance - Rs. 2400/- p.a (Rs. 1200/- per child, max 2 children)
5. The rest can be put under special allowance.
Include PF contribution of the employer in the Basic pay component.

While fixing the structure, please consider the Food and Nutrition allowance (Tax-exempted). Give provision for Telephone/Mobile allowance and House rent Allowance (with receipts, it also gets tax exemption). Please make sure that employees should get benefits and pay minimal Income Tax.
