The best and useful degree for you will be MBA HR from IGNOU (IGNOU - The People's University) as this degree is recognized by AICTE also. This is important because in case in the future you decide to take up an academic job (teaching) due to personal aspirations or family commitments or any other reason, this will be useful. The IGNOU study material is excellent, and the process is very good. The only important thing is to maintain discipline and submit your assignments on time and keep track of readmissions for the next course and registration for examinations. It is a bit bureaucratic, but if you note them or set reminders on a mobile phone, it is possible.

Ms. Pooja,
There are no universities offering MBA through Distance Learning mode. I suggest you visit the website of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Moreover, I would like you to remember that for any MBA program to be recognized for jobs, it shall be approved by the Joint Council of Distance Education Council, AICTE, and Association of Indian Universities. So, check before enrollment. All the best.

Doing a distance MBA, is it worth anything? I have been working for 2 and a half years and also pursuing my distance MBA. However, I have noticed very few opportunities for candidates with distance education qualifications. Can anybody help me understand how this distance MBA works? In my company, it only results in a 15% salary increase in the next performance management cycle.

Hi,
I have answered the OPENMAT entrance exam, which allows you to enroll in IGNOU's Management Programmes, and will be starting this January '10 session. I think it's an excellent distance learning option.
Full-time MBA programs are highly regarded, mainly due to the industry exposure provided and the high quality of management personnel/academics you get to interact with. Part-time programs come next with slightly less of the above benefits. Distance learning ranks last with none of the mentioned advantages. However, if you have experience and complete this program, it can be highly beneficial, especially when changing jobs.
Earning and time-related constraints are major reasons why people opt for distance MBA programs. This doesn't diminish the quality of education provided, but its practical value is usually maximized when exposed to real-life industry scenarios, as opposed to being limited to theoretical understanding.

Dear Psatya,
What you have said is absolutely correct. Presently, I am studying MBA from IGNOU through MD Shah Mahila College and lectures at NL College. In addition to your statement, there is also no need to keep reminders for assignments, lectures, examination form filling, or any processes because the college coordinator does everything necessary for you.
I still feel like a student of MD Shah for the MBA course but I am not attending regular lectures, that's all.

The MBA course through distance education (from IGNOU) is approved by AICTE?
The best and most useful degree for you would be MBA HR from IGNOU (IGNOU - The People's University) as this degree is recognized by AICTE. This is important because in the future, if you decide to pursue an academic job (teaching) due to personal aspirations, family commitments, or any other reasons, this degree will be beneficial. The only important thing is to maintain discipline, submit your assignments on time, keep track of re-admissions for the next course, and register for examinations. It may be a bit bureaucratic, but if you take note of deadlines or set reminders on your mobile phone, it is manageable.

Hello, dear all who want to do MBA (HR) from distance education. As per my knowledge, IGNOU is the best. But something is different from other universities here; exams are more challenging, and evaluation is rigorous. I want to clarify that I am currently pursuing MBA (HR) from IGNOU, and December 2010 is my last semester. You need to dedicate more time to your studies there.
This is my perspective. Whether you like it or not, this is your decision.

Dear All,
I would like to share with all those who are planning to pursue an MBA through Distance Learning. It's fruitless, and you can understand this only after completing your degree and facing numerous difficulties in securing a good job in a reputable organization. Most good companies consider only those with a regular MBA. Therefore, my personal advice to all is to pursue an MBA/PGDBA from a regular college or institute. If you have any queries related to this, feel free to ask anytime.

Dear Mr. Sanjeev,
I am sorry to say that you are demotivating someone. The person pursuing correspondence MBA must be from a middle-class level, who thinks of supporting family financially as well as earning their own expenditure for studies. No matter where or how you are pursuing studies, I think it's your theoretical and practical knowledge that is required by a successful manager in an organization.

As per your experience and know-how, an Executive MBA would be a right decision. Moreover, as your preference is from Delhi, it would be better to opt for IIT Delhi. This you can choose from HughesNet Global Education, which offers an Exec MBA program in collaboration with IITD. These programs involve thorough investigations on their own campus and through two-way video conferencing, eliminating the need to attend classes.

Hello All,
I believe Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU) is the best choice for long-distance MBA courses like Finance, HR, IT, etc. This is a government university approved by all reputable educational institutes. In MBA courses, there are all subjective exams rather than objective ones. The duration of the course is two years, and exams will be held every six months, totaling four semesters. I am currently pursuing an MBA in Finance from the same university, and my experience has been very positive in terms of the knowledge of subjects, exam pattern, and the honesty in conducting exams. This is the information I wanted to share with everyone.
Thank you!
