Speak to your employer and tell him that mapping good candidates as per the available resources is not a piece of cake. It takes time and effort. If he wants to hire someone within 5-6 days, then tell him that you won't be able to acquire the right person for the right job, which is a crucial factor. In the short term, you would only be filling a vacancy, but sooner than later, a vacancy filled up in a hurry will create more problems than not having filled it up at all. Assure your employer that you would take 3-4 weeks' time before you can actually use the available resources to fill it up with a decent candidate. Else there will be a game of musical chairs at your office with people coming and going. Regards

Hi Swati,
Please sell their dreams with your new startup. It's always hard and difficult to attract local talents, but it's you who can make a difference for your company. Go and meet some of the prospects personally and try defining your requirements by being confident. The more you emphasize your true potential about work, I bet you will attract talents. Please do not lose hope... keep going.

Arvind

Dear Swati,
You can find plenty of job seekers if you take the following actions:
- Make recruitments personally;
- Prepare a job description sheet for the employees in consultation with your employer;
- Advertise in local or regional newspapers;
- Shortlist the applicants who seem to be the most fit for the job;
- Constitute a selection board with your employer as the head of the selection board;
- Fix a date of the interview that suits the members of the selection board; and
- Arrange to conduct interviews of the shortlisted candidates on the appointed date.
- Select four candidates on the spot, as considered by the board to be the most suitable persons for the job; and
- Keep at least two candidates on the waiting list to meet the contingency of some selected candidates not joining the organization.

Dear Swati,
Consider points mentioned below:
- Use electronic resources such as Orkut community; Facebook (create your own ad rather), search for Google groups of tier III B schools (assuming you guys won't pay much) of past and present batches; post your requirement there.
- Call the local B-school's office and see what they can do.
- Also, look for candidates working in the same industry through LinkedIn (company search then employee search) and send them an email asking them to forward it.
You can do it. Best wishes,
Abhijeet Singh
