Does anyone have HR lessons from Jawaharlal Nehru, Lala Lajpat Rai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Annie Besant, Rabindranath Tagore, Sarojini Naidu, Lokmanya Tilak, Maulana Azad, Dadabhai Naoroji, Phirozshah Mehta, etc.? Regards

Mother Teresa has been asked by the HR stalwarts to preside over an HR seminar in Calcutta. She simply said, "Do you know your employee and do you love him or her." All the stalwarts are awed. The whole gamut or spectrum of HR concepts - recruitment, induction, training with people as the real asset - are covered in her two questions - is it not?
Another thought of hers:
"We fight because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."

Hi,
Around us, a lot of people from whom we can learn HR lessons. How do we forget them? When Prince Charles visited Mumbai and praised the Dabbawala, we realized their teamwork and strategies. Ramdas Swami wrote 'Dasbodh' 300 years ago. How many people know that in 'Dasbodh' he mentioned and gave examples of management?

@Malti, researching how to link a completely different scenario with HR, IR, Personnel Management, Business Ideas, Planning, Organizing, Controlling, Staffing, or Leading is certainly not my cup of tea because I relate to things in the reality of the present and not otherwise. Perhaps someone who has done this regarding Gandhiji can do the same for others with your help and post it here for the benefit of all members who take pride in learning HR lessons from anything famous solely to draw the attention of Management Lessons Learnt. Life is a lesson in itself to be learned at every step and moment; what one learns depends on oneself and their perception, not otherwise. Regards
