Hi all,
I have completed my MBA with a major in HR and I am planning to take the NET exams this December. I am seeking clarity on the subject code. I am interested in selecting Code 55, which focuses on Labour related subjects and HR. Can I opt for this subject code, or is it necessary to choose Subject code 17, which pertains to general Management? I would appreciate any insights you can provide.
Regards,
Kumar

[QUOTE=BHANUHR;1234076]Hi Kumar, it's in regard to your query. Great, thanks Bhanu. I found out something on the UGC website and am attaching it here. Please go through the first 3 pages & page no 15 of the attachment. According to it, management graduates do not need to qualify for the NET for teaching jobs in the respective field. Please go through it. Thanks, Kumar.

Hi Kumar its not at well necessary if you wish to teach in private colleges( but it gives you an upper hand) . Its more of a necessity in public/govt colleges/institutes.

Dear All,
The NET exam is designed to judge the degree of knowledge a person has in his/her domain. I cleared NET under code 55 in 2000. Based on my experience, my suggestion will be:
1. Prepare for Paper I extremely well. This is a qualifying exam. You may refer to the Upkar Publication Guide for Paper I.
2. For Paper II, you need an understanding of minute details. To give you an example, a question I encountered when I cleared the exam was, "On whose recommendation was the TU Act, 1926 passed?" Answering such questions requires detailed study.
3. For Paper II, choose a good book on HRM and IR. Follow the syllabus systematically.
Make sure to have a copy of the syllabus and a few books that you studied for your masters.
All the best to all aspiring for NET.
