Hello Friends,
I have prepared a Mobile Usage Policy for our existing company, which I thought would be useful for all of you:
MOBILE USAGE POLICY IN THE PREMISES OF ORGANIZATION
This document sets forth policy about cell phone usage and applies to all company employees. As the usage of mobile phones in the workplace is disruptive, results in loss of productive time, and affects concentration and efficiency, this policy has been formulated. The company reserves the right to modify or update these policies at any time.
The following are the guidelines for the usage of Mobile Phones during Office Hours:
1. General Use at Work: Employees should restrict personal calls during work time and should use personal cell phones only during scheduled breaks or lunch periods in non-working areas. Other personal calls should be made during non-work time whenever possible, and employees should ensure that their friends and family members are instructed of this policy. To ensure the effectiveness of this rule, all employees are requested to deposit their Cell Phones in the reception area with the receptionist or to the person directed by the Organization. A register would be provided in the reception area, in which the employees should enter the deposit time and withdrawal time along with their signatures.
2. Emergency Contact Considerations: Employees can use the office landline for calling and receiving emergency calls. The employees can give the official contact number of the organization to their spouse, and immediate blood relatives only. Also, in case the employee wants to use their personal cell phone in emergency situations, the same should be intimated to the Organization and collect the phone from the receptionist after duly signing in the register provided in the reception area.
3. Company Provided Mobile Phones Usage: Employees who are provided with Mobile phones by the Organization for official usage should use the phones for official purposes only. It is recommended that the use of office mobile phones (hands-free) while driving is actively discouraged, and voicemail used instead. Use of hand-held mobile phones should be totally banned. Note that the company is quite clear about the usage of official mobile phones while driving and otherwise too. The company is not responsible for any accidents made or met while attending the calls on the Official mobile phone, in spite of the clear instructions. Also, the employee should not use abusive language using company mobile phones.
