Hi friends, can anybody help me? I am Niketh, working as an HR Executive in a private company. We are relocating our factory to a new location where the area is not covered under ESIC. However, we are currently paying ESIC for employees because the current area is covered under ESIC.

I am seeking advice on alternative options to ESIC and the benefits for employees in this situation. Additionally, I would like to know the procedure for employees to avail ESIC facilities in an uncovered area.

You pay the ESIC contribution for your current covered location only. You could maintain separate wage and salary data for the other unit and can stop the compliance in respect of the employees who are working in a non-implemented area. To cover the risk, however, you may go for the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 from any general insurance company of your choice. Please trust the above advice to be in order.

Thanks and regards,

Dear Niketh,

1) Pay the contribution for the current month and apply for workmen's compensation policy as soon as possible.

2) Submit an intimation letter to the area manager (ESIC) about shifting your office premises.

3) In the return, mention only how many months you have remitted and leave the rest blank. When submitting, attach one copy with the RC.

4) If the branch office is shifting, there is no need for workmen's compensation.

5) In the case of the Head Office, the above points will apply.

I hope these points will help you.

Dear Hariharan,

Where ESIC is not covered, we can take a WC policy which the insurance company provides for the employees in our organization. We have to pay the premium as per the insurance company's fee structure, and if any accident or death takes place, we can claim insurance on the injured employee. For more details, you can contact insurance companies; they will suggest you.

Dear All,

My management is insisting that I quit the job, but I have denied doing so. Initially, they tried to make me quit by giving me a huge workload, which I managed to handle successfully. Now, they are asking me to quit the job. Can anybody help me by giving advice on how to face this?

Thanks,
Hariharan S.
