Hi Nirav,

The first thing to develop in getting things your way is positiveness. Secondly, inclination. The following are the ways in which you can improve your communication skills in English.

1) Find some good magazines in English and in your mother tongue. The stories, articles, news, or any other items should be the same. First, read the content in your mother tongue, then immediately read the first paragraph of the content, and again read the same content in your mother tongue. Similarly, read paragraph by paragraph simultaneously in both languages. You will learn many new words; take note of them in a separate book and try to understand and use them during your discussions/talks.

The first and foremost thing is nobody is a master in any subject. If you make mistakes, you can learn any subject.

Go through old links on this particular subject on CITEHR.

Daily, without fail, please read an English newspaper.

After 3 or 4 months, you will be standing on a separate platform, and in the same way, you can suggest to someone else who raises the same query.

All the best.

Hi,

One suggestion, which will of course require self-motivation and will surely work wonders for you, is to start reading newspapers or English books. It can be any type of book - a novel, story, or magazine. Choose based on your interests. When you read, make sure to read aloud. This will help you improve your pronunciation and remember English words better.

Additionally, watch English movies. Try watching movies with subtitles so you can follow along with the dialogues. This will help you understand the language better and also enjoy the movie. Some recommended channels to watch English movies are Star Movies, Zee Studio, World Movies, and HBO.

Try to surround yourself with English vocabulary and communication. This way, you will even start thinking in English, which will eventually help you communicate better in English.

I hope this advice helps you to start thinking in English.

Dear Nirav,

A language can only be learned when we start speaking it. Most of the time, we hesitate to speak in a language we are not fluent in because we are scared somebody might make fun of us. So, go tell everybody that you are putting your best effort into learning English, and therefore, you have decided to speak in three languages: 1. English 2. English 3. English. Ask others to correct your English when you say something that is grammatically incorrect. People like helping others when they are told, "Hey, you are smarter than me."

I hope this helps!

I am pursuing an MBA and working on a project about employee motivation. I have searched for questionnaires on this topic but have only found a few, and I am not satisfied with those questionnaires. Therefore, could you kindly provide me with some more questionnaires on this topic?

Thank you.
