Here, there is a mismatch between the locations.
When there is a requirement, recruiters make a quick process in shortlisting the profiles. If this type of profile is found, we too find it a headache to read the whole 'Ramayana' about the candidate. Talent is better shown when we can express ourselves in a short and sweet manner.

Hi peer,
I find the CV very lengthy. The concerned person can follow the KISS principle. If needed or demanded by the company, he can send a detailed CV like this one at some later stage. At the same time, I dare to say that some of the recruiters are hiring CVs rather than persons. A perfect CV is like a perfect murder. Till today, we have not experienced it. So a perfect CV is not possible to locate (as the perceptions and requirements of companies differ).

I would have preferred to see some quantitative measures related to what the candidate accomplished as opposed to a list of responsibilities.
For those of you who remarked that it's fake, I don't think so. In a small company, one might have been a generalist and had to handle various aspects of HR functionality. For recruiters, yes, it's lengthy and you won't read it. As a professional, that's why I always tell candidates not to broadcast CVs. Networking for a job yields better results; your CV later explains your experience.

Hi Sardhar,
A typical small/medium firm HR Generalist CV! What seems incongruous is the summary on top. The summary talks of understanding business models, metrics, interconnection of functions, process approach, and measurement... which are critical to HR and are THE differentiator for a good HR... but it has not been proven in the CV! The vital link between HR and business touted in the summary is missing in the experience part.
Geetha: huh:

The candidate is a job hopper. In a department like HR, a person needs to spend more time learning all these things. This means the person may be lying about his roles and responsibilities. Lastly, his current location and his company's location are different.

The resume seems to do a lot of beating around the bush. No quantification of work is provided, and the location does not match. I feel the person must have just picked one CV and added his personal details but forgot to provide details. I won't even shortlist such a guy.

Hello, Peer.
I feel it's not self-written to start off with! The candidate has used flowery language (despite being a recruiter, it's surprising in length!). Also, like most other members, I do feel it's very repetitive. Salary, banding, and policies drafting are one-time activities requiring maintenance and reviewing from time to time. The candidate has had hands in ER/BHR/Comp & Ben/Recruitment... they are all interlinked activities. Truth is only a reference check away :)

Dear All,
I think the CV contains too many unnecessary details. There is no need for the candidate to emphasize so much on the 'attention and focus' that is needed in each activity. At a point in time, he must realize that an HR Specialist needs only a summary of what you did, not your autobiography.

Dear Sir,
The resume looks apparently nice, but some of the functions listed are strategic and typically handled by only the heads of the organization. With a limited duration of experience in the HR field, I think it may not be possible.

Well said, Sundar, when HR personnel are just given 60 to 80 seconds to glance through CV's, the length of a CV is of utmost importance. Besides, CV's do not get one the job; it just helps one to get an interview call. So, it makes sense to keep CV's simple and crisp to attract and impress the one who is going through it.

A CV should be crisp and short as it needs to grab the attention of potential recruiters. Generally, one should not explain every aspect of his job role in detail as he must keep some information for personal interviews that would follow.
The CV given above was too detailed and may not be fake, but highlighting his major job roles should have been enough for the initial screening process.

(HRM as whole is not just developing Policies and Org Design, It’s a vast area, HRM includes all activates/interventions initiated towards sustaining performance of employees and align business strategy and HR needs)
Developed HR policies ensuring that it underpins the culture of§ organization and linked with the overall business objectives of the company.
(Just a sentence saying Formulation and Implementation of HR Policies would describe the meaning)
Proposed and aligned organization structure with the business§ objectives from time to time which facilitated high-growth plans of the company.
(Agree that HR plays a major role in aligning the organization of a company, but an organization structure is evolving and is an effort of every one in the Top Management including HR, In the sense it’s a Senior Management Decision)
Recruitment and Selection
Proposed annual manpower budget based on business projections.§
(HR cannot just propose Manpower plan, It’s a collective activity again, all Top level Managers and Mid Managers will be involved in the activity, HR can arrive at the Manpower plan and CEO of a company will propose it to the Board of Directors. And it cant just depend on Business projections.)

Hi,
The above CV is alright because our resume is our first step to selection. If the individual has actually done the job described and it matches your company's requirements, then go ahead and call him for an interview. Then, clarify any doubts about the person's location or verify if he is truly a super HR man! In short, what I feel is that there is no perfect way of filling out a resume. We as HRs are aware that no two individuals think or function alike, so how can these individuals have a standard resume? Just go through what is required from the resume.

Your feedback:
Hi, My CV is too lengthy. One should not be that much length. A CV should always be brief, and the explanation must be given at the time of the interview, which clearly shows the command over English. It seems he had pasted the material searched from Google. Anyways, can call for an interview to test whether he really stands with that CV or not.
My suggested revision:

I think this CV was created by a fresher to secure an opportunity. The CV contains unnecessary jargon that would not be present if the person had experience performing these functions. As one of our members already pointed out, one person cannot efficiently perform all these tasks.
The CV is overly complex and also irritating. Overall, the candidate may not get a chance for an interview.
As a soft skills trainer, I often see people cutting and pasting pre-made CVs from the internet. These CVs usually have no relevance to the individual. There should be some guidance provided to job seekers regarding CV writing.

This is just so interesting. I'm loving it. Look at the amount of interest the CV has generated, and surprisingly, most of us who have claimed not to have time to go through such lengthy CVs have all just done that. ;)
In continuation to what Yamini said, maybe it's all about perception. (Octavius, your 18 monkeys are still jumping around in some remote corner of my brain, looks like:)) Maybe the candidate only wanted to make sure that he/she does get through for an interview. It could be plagiarism or plain creativity; who knows better than the applicant.
Peer, if I may, please do give this applicant your attention and let all of us know once and for all whether the candidate is a genius or "Prof Gilderoy Lockhart"!
Thank you

There is no specialization. It seems the person is a "Jack of All, Master of nothing."
Thanks,
Sajid
Hi Sardhar,
Thanks first for bringing up the topic. The replies have already pointed out most of the issues in the CV. I would appreciate it if you could attach a similar type of CV that you consider more professional and correct, and get the views of members on that CV. I am sure you will get an amazing response.
Thanks,

The above CV mentions only the typical HR functions. It does not reflect real professional experience. He should mention specifically the tasks assigned to him, his designation, and accountability, as well as his achievements within the company, highlighting the extraordinary achievement.
In my experience, an HR manager can propose a manpoweer budget... i have :) and was asked to do so.

I feel its a fake CV. Lots of repetation in the summary & too bg for recruiter. Actually we should bold the main KRA’s so we could get the right place for a job.

Too much detail.
I. XYZ Corp. (July 2006 - Present) under the heading of "Recruitment/Selection/Training," list 5-7 most important accomplishments. Include "Compensation & Benefits."
II. Use three headings: Employment, Compensation & Benefits, System Development. Concentrate on including information that interests a prospective employer. Remember, a resume is just a ticket to the interview. Make it intriguing so that the employer is eager to learn more.
Good luck

Hi Peer,
Whose CV was that? It was a nice index for a book on HR Management. A CV needs to be read in relation to the position.
1. If this CV is for a junior-level position, I will still call him and try to understand what all he has done.
2. If it is a senior-level position, I will still call him and find out whether he has really done this in 4 years.
3. If it is for a Trainee, I won't call him.

Hi,
The CV is definitely lengthy. The candidate could simply mention headings like HRM, Recruitment & Selection, etc., instead of explaining each one in detail. These details can be elaborated on during a personal interview. A concise CV is what most people prefer, considering everyone is pressed for time.
I don't view it as a completely fabricated CV, as some candidates tend to exaggerate their experiences by claiming they handled numerous tasks in a short period. However, I do agree regarding the mismatch in location. His hobbies could be presented in a more refined manner.
