Mukesh, the only thing that will help you is a lot of interaction. Try to talk with people in English. If you are wrong, ask them to correct you. Don't feel ashamed; you might be weak in communication but very good at something else. So, without avoiding it, try to improve. Practice makes perfect. Don't avoid it; face it. One more thing that can help you is to read journals, newspapers, at least for half an hour daily. Talking in front of a mirror will increase your confidence. Try these out; you will definitely get good results. All the best.

Hi Mukesh!

Reading is one definite way to improve your skills. Try starting with simpler things like the daily newspapers and magazines such as India Today and Reader's Digest. Reader's Digest is excellent. Also, if you are looking for specific help with vocabulary, try Word Power by Norman Lewis; it's a phenomenal book. You will also need to slowly develop a habit of conversing in English. Tell a couple of close friends and make a deal that you will only talk in English. It may be awkward at first, but it will help later.

Additionally, if you are a movie buff, try watching more English movies. Pick up DVDs with subtitles and concentrate on the dialogues. BBC is another fantastic channel if you want to improve your English!

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

In order to improve your communication skills, you have to do the following, which will certainly help you to enhance your language skills:

1. Think and speak only in English as much as possible.
2. Always try to listen to English news available from TV, radios, and through the websites of BBC and CNN on the internet.
3. Read whatever materials that you can get hold of.
4. Learn at least 2 new words from the dictionary every day.
5. Whenever you come across any new word, try to understand the word's meaning and use it in your conversations.

Hi Mukesh,

Tell me something, if you don't know how to communicate well, then how come you are able to write a flawless message. Mukesh, you need not ask these things because communication in English hardly matters if you have the matter to talk about. This is my thinking, but you may have a different perspective about this. The same thing applies everywhere, Mukesh. It is us who can change perspectives of ourselves and others, and it highly depends on the way we think of our strengths and weaknesses. Trust me, when they hired you, they didn't see whether you know English or not; what matters to them is your knowledge base. All I suggest to you is to concentrate on your knowledge base or area of specialization, and automatically everything will get smoothed out.

Regards
