Dear Friends,

I am attaching a PowerPoint presentation on Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. I have used it to provide a brief overview of what Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act entails. I hope it will be useful for basic information on the topic. If anything is missing, please let me know. I am eagerly awaiting your replies, suggestions, and guidance.

Dear Neat PP Presentation,

What about the time limit for filing the complaint and procedure for its cognizance, which is the crucial part of the process? This is missed out.

Dear sir,

Your PPT is very good. However, recently we have read in the newspapers that Stop Payment is out of the purview of Section 138 as ruled by the Honorable Supreme Court. This information has been published in the newspapers but has not been reported by any reporter.

Dear Friend,

Thanks for sharing this presentation; no doubt, this will help all of us. I had a problem like this, but I had given a signed check (account was closed) to my friend. I do not have any money transactions with him, but now some other person has sent me a court notice under sections 138 and 142. I am attaching the notice document for reference. What should I do now? Can I file a case? Please send your suggestions.

Warm regards, Umesh Chaudhary (welcomeumesh@yahoo.com)
