Dear Professionals,
Please clarify: Is it necessary for the manager of a factory to be a full-time employee at the factory? Can they continue as the manager of the factory under the Factories Act after reaching superannuation i.e., at 58 years of age? If so, kindly specify the relevant provisions.
Thanks & Regards

There is no prerequisite for being a Factory Manager; the occupier of the factory can nominate anyone as the Factory Manager. Whether the Factory Manager is full-time or not is not a material issue, but the incumbent has to bear responsibility as provided in the Act. There is no age bar for the post.
