I am a single developer in my company. Right now, I am serving the notice period. It looks like my company is not looking for my replacement. Due to the lockdown, they have given me half salary and asked for full working hours. Now, when I put in my resignation, they are asking me to complete 2 months of work within a 30-day notice period.

Hi Rahul,
Please follow what they mentioned in your appointment letter. If there's only a 30-day notice period, serve it accordingly and ensure to share a daily working report with your reporting head. Keep one copy for yourself; it will help you at the time of relieving for any kind of negotiation by the employer.

Hi Rahul,
It's an extraordinary situation. The job market is not that rosy due to the aftereffects of the lockdown; it has just started slowly limping. In your case, it's okay legally to go by a one-month notice. However, the fact remains that you would need a clean 'relieving letter' and full/final settlement when you ultimately leave. Are you prepared to quit even if they might delay or not issue a clean RL? At this juncture, I don't think you are in a good position to risk quitting without the necessary documents to comfortably transition to other jobs. Take some time to think it over and choose between the two. You are the better judge.
Please let me know if you need further clarification or assistance.
