Basically, employment is a contract between the employer and the employee. If either of them is desirous of unilaterally terminating the contract, he/she can do so subject to the conditions stipulated in this regard. Therefore, if the employee is willing to fulfill the notice condition, the employer cannot simply refuse to accept the employee's resignation.
