Hi friends, I used to work for a client software company as a recruiter with my payroll company in another location. My payroll company ended the one-year contract with my client. During the contract termination, my payroll offered me two job options:

1. My payroll head informed me to work with them for another client in Bangalore, as they were in the process of signing a new contract.

2. My current client liked my work and wanted to hire me on their payroll for the next 6 months. The company is undergoing management changes, so they cannot hire me permanently at the moment. Initially, they want to hire me for 6 months and later decide based on the ongoing changes.

I decided to continue with my client and submitted my resignation to the payroll company, which they accepted. My client assured me that my job is secure, but I am still waiting for the official contract offer letter.

Now, the client mentioned that this is their first time hiring on a contract basis and they are seeking advice from a legal advisor for the contract agreement letter.

I received a soft copy of the contract agreement mentioning the remuneration. However, I am finding it difficult to understand all the terms in the agreement. I requested my client to provide me with the standard company documents like the offer letter, monthly payslip, and relieving letter.

The client mentioned that they currently do not have any open positions on a contract basis and cannot provide an offer letter or payslip. Instead, they asked me to invoice them for my recruitment services, and they will pay me via check or money transfer. They also mentioned that they will issue a relieving letter. They will only deduct TDS as they can't provide a payslip.

My main concern is whether other companies in the market will accept the contract agreement letter as an offer letter and an invoice in place of a payslip. The client assured me of providing a relieving letter.

I am feeling confused and unsure about what to do next. I would appreciate your suggestions.

As far as I am able to understand that the proposal is that of a " Contract for Service " and not a " Fixed Term Contract of service ".
