Hi,

My company is not in the process of issuing salary slips on a monthly basis. They are only issued when special requests are received and upon approval from the CEO. My query is, isn't a salary slip a basic right of all employees? Is there any act under which this case can be addressed? Senior members, your comments will be valuable.

Thank you,
Soni

1. Pay/salary slip is compulsory either in hard copy or electronically, even in the local language as a statutory requirement.

2. As such, a payslip is generated in Form XIII as prescribed under the Minimum Wages Act or Acts of the State Government. The payslip is given in line with the Payment of Wages Act, 1936.

Salary Slip or Payslip is a statutory requirement for any organisation. If a company is not issuing payslips in paper/electronic formats, it is a clear case of non-compliance

Why raise a legal query on such a petty matter? How will the employee know whether the calculation of gross, deductions, and net salary is correctly done? It also serves as proof of income in some cases of loan-seeking employees. Think beyond mere law!
