Dear All,

Is it mandatory to submit "Form 2" or "Form 11" of PF to the PF authority in the original? Our employees are scattered across India, and we are facing issues regarding the original copies of Form 2 and Form 11. Currently, we are obtaining scanned copies of these forms and submitting them in duplicate to the PF authority.

Please assist me with this matter.

Regards, Santosh

Hi Santhosh,

You have to clearly understand those two forms:

1) Form 2 is a nomination form that needs to be collected in duplicate when joining. One copy is to be submitted to the EPF department, and the other is for your reference. It includes the date of birth, date of joining, address, family member details, and nomination details.

2) Form 11 is a declaration letter by the employee stating their previous employment, UAN, and EPF numbers if they have worked before. Additionally, it includes options such as whether the employee is international or not, followed by KYC details for UAN. This form is for our reference only and does not need to be submitted to the EPF department. If there is an inspection, we just have to show it.

Thank you!

Does Form 2 still need to be submitted in physical copy to the authorities? I thought it was now only uploaded on the portal.

For Form 11, I think keeping scanned copies in records would be good enough.
