Dear sir,
Please note that the minimum bonus as per the new notification is Rs. 7000/- or the minimum wage of the scheduled employment of the concerned state, whichever is higher. Therefore, in this case, it will be Rs. 6000/- only.

Dear Asit,
In any case, it will not be less than 7000/- for calculating the bonus for a particular month. It may be less only in the condition if the earnings are less, which are based on the working days in a particular month.
Thanks

Dear Sir,
As per the new bonus rules, if the basic salary is less than Rs 7000, you have to calculate the bonus as if the basic salary were Rs 7000. This means that if the basic salary is Rs 6000, the bonus calculation would be based on Rs 7000.
Please study the new bonus rules carefully.

Dear Mr. Santra,
The concept of min bonus can be well understood from the contentions of both Mr. Rajesh Ku. Dubey and PDMATTA@gmail.com read together. However, to clarify, the calculable rate of wage for bonus in case of sl no-1 is Rs. 7345/- and in case of sl No.2 is Rs. 7000/- for full attendance in the month.

Dear All,
Please refer to my reply posted a little earlier. There is a correction. The calculable wage for the bonus in both cases (sl.no. 1 & 2) is Rs. 7000/-.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

It is seen that the interpretation given by Rajkumar Debey and two others is not entirely correct. Of course, the ceiling for the calculation of Bonus is fixed at Rs. 7,000/- or the Minimum Wages for scheduled employment set by the Government, whichever is higher. This does not mean that the wages taken for bonus calculation are Rs. 7,000/- as wages, even in cases where the wage or minimum wage payable to employees is below Rs. 7,000/- per month.
Section 10 of the Payment of Bonus Act states that "a minimum Bonus, which shall be 8.33% of the salary or wage EARNED by the employee during the year," should be considered while calculating the Bonus. Therefore, an employee is entitled to bonus payment only for the earned wages, even if the Minimum Wage for the scheduled employment set by the Government is less than Rs. 7,000/-.
Hope my view is considered correct.

Mr. SriDharan,
Please once again go through my post/suggestion, which clearly confirms that in accordance with the notification and contents provided, the wages considered as the basis for calculation will not be less than 7000/- per month (on full days' working if monthly paid). The wages will be less only in cases where the concerned person has worked fewer days, and their earnings will also be reduced for that particular wage month.
