Hello friends!

I have a query regarding off on Christmas Day & New Year's Day. Is it mandatory for an IT company in India to give off on these days? If not compulsory, how commonly do companies follow this practice?

Generally, all private sector companies have a holiday policy, such as seven days of paid holiday in a calendar year. These include national holidays, as well as some religious holidays that are generally what the majority of employees want, as sensed by HR. Therefore, one can go by the majority opinion of the staff and workers.

Obviously, 25th Dec or 1st Jan are not mandatory. If there are a few employees who need these days as holidays, they can be given such holidays, adjusting against CL if the management agrees to this arrangement.
