Navigating Career Transition: Advice on Accepting a Software Development Job with Employment Gap - CiteHR

No Tags Found!

Hi, I have completed B.E from 2002 to 2006, and then completed M.E from 2010 to 2012. I was doing some odd teaching jobs between my B.E and M.E. Recently, through a reference, I got a software development job in a medium-sized IT company as a contract employee for a period of 1.5 years. I need urgent advice from somebody on whether to accept this job or not. Given my profile and the break between studies, will I be able to move into bigger IT companies after this 1.5 years of work experience? Any replies are highly appreciated.

As long as you have the experience certificates for the odd teaching jobs you did between your B.E and M.E, it shouldn't be a problem. However, even if you don't have any documents for that experience, I think you should still accept this offer, since getting into the corporate mainstream is tough in the present scenario. I suggest contacting the colleges you worked at earlier to get the necessary documents. Now that you have time until 1.5 years, that should be workable for you.

All the best.
