Dear Basima,
Employees receiving a daily average wage up to Rs.70/- (w.e.f 1-8-07) are exempted from payment of contribution. Employers will, however, contribute their own share in respect of these employees. PF is exempted because the job is not permanent in nature.

Hi Kiran,
I have recently transferred my PF amount from my previous company (online transfer). It was done in two weeks hassle-free. When I checked the transferred amount, the employee and employer contributions were transferred to the new account. However, upon checking the previous company PF passbook, I noticed that the total amount was Rs 9000.00 less than what was transferred to the new account. I would like to understand why Rs 9000.00 has been deducted from my previous PF amount.
I worked for 2 years and 9 months in the previous organization. I calculated the employee contribution, employer contribution, and pension amount. Could you please guide me on what steps I should take regarding this discrepancy? I am seeking your advice on this matter.
Thank you,
Kiran
