Dear All,

I have gone through the previous threads on this forum. Some discussions have taken place on Global Warming. The Carbon Trading and Reduction in Global warming gases emissions are explained on the UNFCCC website (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change).

I was a coordinator to assess the potential of earning CERs (Certified Emission Reductions) within our group. I think that although we made a lot of improvements resulting in cost reduction, this does not fit the ADDITIONALITY CRITERION of CDM.

During this time, I attended some seminars, and one such PowerPoint presentation is retrieved and being uploaded for the benefit of the members of citehr.

There are 6 gases that contribute to Global Warming:

1. CO2
2. CH4
3. N2O
4. HFCs
5. PFCs
6. SF6

If any of your companies have made improvements that fit the ADDITIONALITY criterion, your company can earn CERs and trade them in the open market.

I attended a case study shared by M/s SRF Chemicals Delhi, who have earned more than Rs 250 crore through Carbon Trading. They have published some information on the net.

I hope the attached file is useful to you.

Sudhir

Dear All,

I am sharing another PowerPoint presentation for the benefit of all. This will illustrate the steps involved right from the identification of CDM projects until the actual CER credits are obtained. I hope you will find this useful as well. I have some more data that I am trying to locate and will upload it once I retrieve it.

Regards,
Sudhir
