Hello everybody,

I need help from you. My manager needs a daily task report for me and two other employees. I work as a secretary in the accounting department. I am unsure whether to create the report as a text document or a spreadsheet. Could you provide examples of both formats?

Thank you.

Hi,

I would suggest following the format below for reporting:

STATUS REPORT ON THE TASK

1. Sl. No
2. Dt.
3. Brief of the Task Pending
4. Status Report
5. Target Dt of Completion
6. Remark

I am unable to attach it in Excel format. Please put all these in the Excel format for reporting as this would be efficient.

Regards,
Kumar

Dear Molly,

The daily task report will be based on the tasks the employees perform. It can be in Excel or Word format. The activities that the employees engage in on a daily basis will be captured in this report to help monitor them. Members in this forum can assist you if you share details about what the employees do.

Dear,

If you mostly work in accounting, you may not be able to cover all accounting tasks in a report, especially if there are cash payment processes involved. Providing the report in the format of Kumar may be sufficient. However, if you encounter any issues, communicate them to your manager. They may understand your problem.

In secretary work, it is essential to always mention pending tasks. This is necessary to understand how much work is pending.

Thank you.

Accounts work can also be included in the format. In case of general cash transactions, the total amount can be recorded as cash in hand for identified needs. In the case of salary payments in cash, you can write the amount pending for a certain period and then deposit the undisbursed salary into the bank. In case MIS is pending, then the period for MIS can be recorded.

If you come out with a specific problem, then I can offer a solution to it.

Hi,

Plan your work first, and work your plan. Then, report out in any form, either in Word or Excel. First, understand what your manager is expecting from the daily report, and then incorporate those elements into the report.

Thank you.
