Please read the case and help me. We have a contract employee with a notice period of 1 day. He is not performing well, and we want to terminate him. I want to know how much time we have to give him a warning before taking any action.

Dear Joshi,

You can initiate a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) against the employee with a timeframe of 10-15 days, along with review dates. Since the notice period is just 1 day, a decision can be made at the end of the PIP period.

Please note, there is no specific timeframe for the PIP. It depends on the manager and how much time he/she wants to give the team member to improve performance.

Regards,
Ram

one day Notice period???? sounds odd. I think the employee is on casual role. For casual labour, no need of notice period. Pon
