Hello Everyone, I am working in a growing media company as an HR Executive. The working hours here are 10 hours, i.e., from 10 am to 8 pm. In some companies, what they mention on paper, e.g., 6 pm, employees have to extend the time by 1 or 2 hours. However, as the work time is already 10 hours, is it appropriate? Sometimes, even if I don't have any work, I am forced to stay back until 8 pm.
Need for Flexible Working Hours
Kindly suggest reasons based on which the timings can be changed, as my HR Manager is following the same, making it difficult to raise a voice against it. Though one of my colleagues is working from 10 am to 7 pm, when this was mentioned, she got angry.
Kindly help.

Unity Among Colleagues
For this, you need unity among your colleagues. All you need is to raise your voices together, which remains the only option for you. Besides this, all employees should leave together at 8. Yes, the normal timing is 10-7.

Just be in unity with your colleagues and rise together to address and present your problems to management by sending emails collectively. This is the only option for solving your problems.

Nice question! Practically, office timing cannot be changed in the current scenario where the owner is C.M.D, (Lala Type), unless you can demonstrate that the current working time can affect the performance of each employee.
Ideas for Project on Office Timing
Here, I am giving you a few ideas to prepare one project on office timing and its effect on each employee. We all know that when we start our day, we work very precisely and effectively. After lunch, we work precisely but not effectively, and after the tea break, we start thinking about the day ending. This is a common problem with any working schedule. However, you have to segregate the timing based on the performance of each employee, such as 10 am to 2 pm, 2:30 pm to 5 pm, and 5:15 pm to 8 pm. Analyze each employee's performance accordingly, and present your findings to your HR Manager with emphasis on your intention. This process may take time, but you will get fruitful results.
Have a nice day!
