Hi Arul,
First of all, start reading the newspaper and mark all those words where you have problems or concerns in your dictionary. Try to use English words in your conversations. Begin with simple words like "good morning," "hello," "nice to meet you," etc. Then, progress to using phrases and constructing short sentences. After some time, you will be able to speak and think in English.

Dear Grace,
I have been in the field of Spoken English Language Skill training for more than 7 years now. I have found that improving your speaking ability does not depend on the reading of some material. Here are a few suggestions you could adopt to speak English easily:
1. Read loudly and clearly every day, starting with 5 minutes a day.
2. Listen to any Indian English News Channels for 5 minutes to begin with.
3. Ask yourself 3 questions: A) What you read and listened to, B) How much of it are you able to recall, C) Are you utilizing the material you read and listened to?
4. Read short stories, biographies, and paragraphs.
5. Form a group of non-English speaking people and share the stories, biographies, or paragraphs. Initially, they may laugh, but continue until you acquire confidence.
6. Join a TOAST MASTERS CLUB, which helps you speak spontaneously.
Good Luck,

Dear All,
What kind of training strategy will you adopt to train workers who have technical knowledge, such as plumbers, carpenters, painters, and electrical/mechanical technicians, but do not know English on a larger scale, or let us say those who haven't passed beyond the 8th standard - school dropouts?
Most of them are from non-English medium backgrounds.
How much time do you need to train them to learn basic/simple sentences that can be used in our daily routine life?
What materials can be used to train them?
With profound regards

Dear Skhadir,
1. Encourage them to form small words that they can spell easily.
2. Read short stories to them and ask them to explain in their native language what they have understood.
3. Have them say simple sentences.
4. Ensure they repeat the words and sentences they have read.
5. Challenge them to recall the information without referring to the text.

Hi, I am starting up as a spoken English trainer and I need help with the content for grammar and sentence formation. I am a bit confused as to the topics which are to be covered as a priority, how deep we should train a student for each topic, and grammar and sentence formation material and exercises.
PS: I have mostly students who just cannot frame proper sentences as they are not from an English medium school and have no good choice of words. I need materials to help them speak decent English with correct sentence formation within a 45-day period. Any tips, please.
