There were once two brothers who lived on the 80th floor of a tall building. On coming home one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts were not working and that they had to climb the stairs home. After struggling to the 20th floor, panting and tired, they decided to abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their bags and continued climbing.
By the time they had reached the 40th floor, they were sufficiently mad and irritated. The younger brother started to grumble, and they began to quarrel as they climbed to the 60th floor.
Upon realizing they only had 20 more levels to climb, they decided to stop quarreling and continue climbing in peace. They silently made their way to their home at long last. Each stood calmly before the door, waiting for the other to open it, only to realize the key was in their bags left on the 20th floor.
THIS STORY IS A REFLECTION ON OUR LIFE AND TIMES.
All of us climb the tall building called LIFE. Some climb all 80 floors, and some less. Many of us climb under the expectations of our companions.
At times these are our friends and parents until the 20th floor, then our spouse and our dear ones until the next level of the building. We seldom get to do the things we really like and love, under so much pressure and stress, that by the age of 20, we get tired and decide to dump this load. Being free of the stress and pressure, we work enthusiastically and dream ambitious wishes.
By the time we reach 40 years old, we start to lose our vision and dreams. We begin to feel unsatisfied and start to complain and criticize, living life as a misery as we are never satisfied.
Reaching 60, we realize that we have little left to complain about, and we begin to walk the final episode in peace and calmness. We think there is nothing left to disappoint us, only to realize we cannot rest in peace because we have an unfulfilled dream.
A dream we abandoned 60 years ago. So what's your dream? Know your dreams and follow them so you will not live with regrets.

Dear friend, Its a real good and nice story. We all must reflect upon it and also make others stop and ponder the meaning of life before its too late. Regards, P J Joseph
Wonderful... it's really very true. Thank you a lot for sharing it with us. In today's scenario, we are all running after so many things like money, success, and fame that we are forgetting ourselves. By the time we realize it, it's too late, and we cannot change things. So, I think self-satisfaction, love for our near and dear ones, giving time for our families and friends (we need to make time), and last but not least, our values and ethics are a must that we should not forget. That's the real treasure that we will have.

My dear friend,
I have been working for nearly 40 years. I am now in my early 60s and believe me, what keeps me going is the ability to enjoy every little thing that life brings along. Yes, follow your dreams, but at the same time, plan well.
A great story. God bless you all.
