Hi,

I hold a B.Tech degree in Electronics and I am currently working in a Market Research Company. I am looking to change my job as I completed my graduation in 2008. I am concerned that if I switch to my field now, I may be considered a fresher even though companies are seeking fresher candidates from 2010 onwards.

I am interested in finding a job in either Telecom or software. I kindly request if anyone has any insights or suggestions on what steps I should take next. Should I pursue additional courses like Mainframe, Testing, or any other recommendations?

Your suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Bhoomi

Dear Bhoomi,

For job, you can post your resume in The Hindu newspaper, citehr, Naukri, Monster, Mafoi, etc.

For queries, you can search on Google for "electronics forum India," then ask your query there, and they will suggest solutions.

All the best,

Dear Bhoomi,

Welcome to CiteHR. You can join TechEnclave (http://www.techenclave.com) for that purpose. Also, I must tell you that the way you are judging the knowledge level of members is not appreciable.

Bhoomi,

Technical things cannot be taught. They have to be learned by yourself. I suggest you go to a Training Centre (Personality Development) where they would build you into a good leader. Alternatively, you can also do a self-study (SWOT Analysis) about yourself, find out the strengths and weaknesses, and suggest a good field where you can perform.

Hi Bhoomi,

Being an Electronics & Communication Engineer, you have various opportunities in the software field. It depends on where your interests lie. I would suggest that you explore ERP packages like SAP, Siebel, and Peoplesoft. Each of these options offers technical modules.

Hi Bhoomi,

Since you have indicated interest in Telecom and software, you have a wide range of opportunities. It could be something like wired communication technologies, wireless communication technologies (2G, 3G, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS...). In each of these, you could get into hardware, software development, testing, conformance. So, firstly, you will have to google for further information on these, see where you belong. There are many companies working on these technologies. Study their recruitment requirements and get trained on these.

Do let me know if you need any further help.

Warm regards,
Prakash
