MIS stands for Management Information System. So at any point in time, I want to understand or analyze the organization's standing; it should be represented in a data format. There can be many reports like the Current employee details report, headcount summary report, attrition report, payroll report, Employee turnover report, etc. So it majorly depends on the industry you're working with, and accordingly, these reports need to be modified as per the management information needs.
Let's make it simple. Anything and everything (reports) that provide information and help in having enough data to make decisions on any matter related to the company (management) come under the domain of MIS (Management Information System). The types of reports can range from just time card entries to complex statistical calculations of all possible revenue-generating channels.
There is no pre-defined format for an MIS report and it can be created and recreated depending on the requirements of the company and all the parties concerned. That's what makes it really diverse and complex at the same time.

MIS, which stands for Management Information System, is an important tool for managers, institutions, entrepreneurs, or corporate houses to access all information about their employees at a glance. This information system is essential for employees to communicate with their employers regarding their date of joining, promotions, retirement, leave, Provident Fund (P.F.), salary revisions, or any other relevant information.
