Hello Senior, please help. My friend has confused me in this matter - Our company has fixed the basic salary lower than the minimum wage of Haryana. However, our payable amount (net payable) to employees is higher than the minimum wage. I want to know if the basic salary must be at least the minimum wage or not. We are registered in Haryana.

Hi Amit,

It's mandatory that Basic Wage should be equal to the Minimum Wages applicable for a particular state. It doesn't make any difference whether gross wages or net payable amount is more than the Minimum wages specified.
