Dear all,

Can anyone help with a query? After completing an MBA in HR, what other courses would provide an added advantage in an HR career? Some have suggested LLB or MSW. What about these courses or what are the other courses that we can pursue while working?

Thank you.

Hi,

You can also go for a Diploma in Labour Welfare and Labour Law, which is a mandatory requirement in manufacturing companies registered under the Factories Act. It will provide you with an advantage.

Hi,

This suggestion will definitely help us to go further in our careers. It must be sourced from different universities and different educational bodies. Can anyone advise us on which educational body or firm will be the most reputable one? If anyone has consulted with such a university, please help us by providing the address or link to visit these universities.

Dear Friends,

After completing an MBA, you have various options to further enhance your skills:

(i) The ISTD diploma in Training & Development, which is an AICTE approved course.

(ii) T V Rao - Competency mapping course, a recognized certification across the industry.

(iii) I have learned through friends that Middle Earth Consultant's C&B certification provides comprehensive knowledge about Compensation and Benefits.

(iv) SHRM certification, which is internationally recognized.

Additionally, you can pursue a PG/Diploma in Labor Law, Administration, Contract Act, Safety, etc., through distance mode.

Hope this information is helpful to you all.

Regards,
Immanuel

Hi Ms. Neha,

If you are looking for a 1-year PG Diploma course, you can go for a 1-year PG Diploma in Labour Laws and Admin Law from Madurai Kamaraj University. In fact, I just enrolled. Regarding MSW, I have no idea; usually, people opt for it before an MBA.

Hi all,

I am LL.B., M.B.A. (HR). Law is a professional course and cannot be supplementary to HR. You may do a diploma in Labour Laws if you want to enter the manufacturing sector; otherwise, there are many training, recruitment, etc., related diplomas available. You may choose one of them.

After completing an MBA, the best thing you should do is to gain practical knowledge. Do not get stuck with degrees and certifications. While educational qualifications are necessary to acquire conceptual knowledge, it is now time to sharpen your skills and utilize what you have learned.

Hi all,

Greetings.

I am doing a distance education MBA (HR) at Anna University, and I am in my last semester. Please, can someone suggest what can be done after this course? Are there any value-added courses available? Any short-term courses will be suitable for me as I cannot attend regular classes due to my work commitments.

Some people are saying that this course does not hold much value in the context of multinational companies. Can someone clarify this doubt for me?

Thanks and Regards,
Thivya

Hi,

First, you can select the area in the HR field that you want to go into. Then, you can secure a job in that specific area to gain experience. Afterward, you can reflect on it, and definitely, you will get an idea of which course or diploma you want to pursue.

Hi Neha,

As Anuradha suggested, you should consider enrolling in a Diploma in Labour Welfare and Labour Law since this course only lasts for 1 year. However, my recommendation is for you to pursue LLB as it will enhance your job prospects with a better salary package.

Thank you.
