Hi Raj,

An employee who worked for only 3 months is eligible to withdraw only the EPF amount (i.e., 12% + 3.67%) credited to his account and cannot withdraw the Pension Fund amount (i.e., 8.33%).

Hope this is clear to you.

Dear Raj,

If any employee worked with any organization covered by the EPF Act, then those employees are eligible only for withdrawal of the Provident Fund (12% of the Employee's + 3.67% from the Employer's share) and 8.33% of the pension fund cannot be withdrawn from the PF account.

Dear all,

It's clear to me that a person who has worked for 3 months can withdraw the PF, i.e., 12% + 3.67%. But what about the 8.33%? Whether he can withdraw it by submitting Form 10C or not. Please clarify.

It's clear to me that any person who has worked only for 3 months can withdraw the PF, i.e., 12% + 3.67%, but they can't withdraw 8.33% (pension fund). They will get the pension fund when they have worked for 6 months in one organization.

The Provident Fund members can avail advances/partial withdrawals for housing, marriage, illness, closure of the establishment, etc., through an application in Form 31 which provides details and documents to be submitted.

On retirement or on leaving service, the Provident Fund accumulations can be withdrawn in full by submitting an application in Form 19.

In case of premature death, the Provident Fund is payable to nominee(s)/family members by the submission of Form 20 by each beneficiary.

Regarding the Pension Fund, the position is as follows:
• Where an employee has not served for 10 years on the date of leaving service and has not attained the age of 58 years, he may obtain a Scheme Certificate to continue his membership during the unemployment period, which can be used to count the previous service when he joins another establishment covered under the Act.

Hi,

Thank you all for sharing the information about the PF. From the above posts, I understand that if an associate serves 3 months, he can claim the PF contribution of both the employer and employee. Kindly help me with the eligibility of the years of association to claim the employer contribution towards Pension (8.33%).

Dear All Seniors,

Thank you very much for your valuable information. However, I need clarification on the following topics:

1. Can an employee withdraw the EPF amount during their service period? If yes, what is the procedure?
2. What are the criteria for an employee to take an EPF loan?
