Dear Seniors,
I need your valuable advice on the mentioned subject. I have completed my PGDBA (Finance) from Welingkar Institute of Management, Development & Research on 31-12-08 in distance education mode. Currently, I am working in a Pvt. Ltd. Company as an Assistant Manager (Finance & Accounts).
However, I believe that to gain a deeper knowledge of financial aspects and for better job opportunities, I need to pursue further studies. Therefore, I am interested in knowing more about the CFA program offered by ICFAI in flexi mode. What is your valuable opinion about it? Is there any value to this course in the market? Should I go for it, or should I consider another course? I would appreciate your suggestions.
I have many questions in my mind. Kindly assist me with this matter.
Thanks & Regards,
Mohnish Shethiya.

Hi Mohinish,
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) though is a relatively new field; it has assumed significant importance in the changing business scenario. Their work primarily focuses on financial analysis. To meet the changing requirements of the financial sector, the CFA program has been designed and conducted by ICFAI. The program is more of a practitioner's course. It imparts training in the fields of corporate finance, investment management, and financial services. The program is better suited for executives who want to enhance their skills in the field of finance.
The openings available to CFA degree holders are in Banking, Insurance, Corporate Sectors, Finance, and Leasing Companies. Even organizations like Railways, Reserve Bank of India, and Financial Institutions such as ICICI, IDBI, IFCI, and UTI have given due recognition to the CFA program. Most ICFAI graduates receive offers for challenging professional positions with attractive emoluments. The career prospects are as bright as any other in the field of finance. Fresh graduates with a degree from ICFAI generally start as executive trainees in the financial sector. After gaining experience, they can even head their department.
I suppose now your doubts must be cleared. Still, if you have any doubts, you can email me at navita981985@gmail.com.
